LIXIL Corporation (“LIXIL”, TSE Code: 5938), maker of pioneering water and housing products, has updated its impact methodology for our global sanitation and hygiene, one of the strategic pillars of our Impact Strategy. As of the close of FYE2024, we are proud to report that we have reached approximately 68 million people with this improved approach.
Our target is ambitious: to improve sanitation and hygiene for 100 million people around the world by 2025 through the introduction of innovative and affordable toilet and hand hygiene solutions. Each year, we are committed to transparently communicating our progress, and this updated methodology is a testament to that promise. It allows us to transparently account for the direct impact of our initiatives.
Previously, we estimated our impact based on the number of toilet and hand hygiene solutions provided to households only. Acknowledging our diversified SATO product range and the evolving measurement practices in the WASH sector, we will continuously update our methodology while validating our data with the support of our partners for guidance on best measurement practices for working in new contexts, cultures, and geographies.
This updated methodology which outlines the ongoing impact data validation since FYE2013 and presents the latest impact figures for FYE2024, is a reflection of our dedication to continuous improvement and transparent reporting.
