Tokyo – LIXIL Corporation (“LIXIL”, TSE Code: 5938), maker of pioneering water and housing products, announced its inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) for the fifth consecutive year and the DJSI Asia Pacific for the seventh consecutive year for its sustainability performance.
Created jointly by S&P Dow Jones Indices and RobecoSAM, the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices evaluate the sustainability performance of the world's leading companies with regards to key areas such as environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria. The DJSI World is composed only of companies that rank within the top 10% of their industries. This year, LIXIL was selected as one of the 321 companies worldwide, of which 38 are Japanese companies.
The Corporate Sustainability Assessment by S&P Global recognized LIXIL for its initiatives and transparency of ESG-related disclosures. The company obtained a perfect score for its Transparency & Reporting, Waste, and Water. It also received the highest scores within the industry for Environmental Policy & Management Systems, and Occupational Health & Safety. Moreover, it improved its scores from the previous year in five areas, especially Information Security/Cyber Security & System Availability¹.
