Versicherungskammer Bayern is making a strategic investment in SURU. The software specialist for mains water damage prevention is part of LIXIL Corporation - a global leader in pioneering water technology and building solutions.
The company’s business model reduces mains water damage in buildings through a digital meter infrastructure, known as Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), utilizing smart water meters. Statistically, in Germany, a pipe-related water damage incident occurs every 30 seconds. Together, Versicherungskammer Bayern and SURU seek to further enhance preventive efforts. SURU’s services will also be offered to other insurers for their customers.
SURU’s technology - integrated in “SURU-ready meters” - enables data-driven identification of pipe-related water damage and protects buildings from harm. To this end, SURU collaborates with leading meter manufacturers and utility providers to deliver greater home safety to as many citizens as possible over the long term. Users benefit from early detection of water leaks and complete transparency regarding their water consumption. This partnership also makes an important contribution to the sustainable use of water resources.
