LIXIL Corporation (LIXIL), maker of pioneering water and housing products, announced that it has won the Circularity Award at the Reuters Global Sustainability Awards 2026¹. The award recognizes LIXIL's leadership in advancing the circular economy to integrate recycled material at scale.

LIXIL was highly acclaimed for its pioneering technologies that advanced the circular economy. The company created “PremiAL,” a recycled low-carbon aluminum² with third-party verified by SuMPO (Sustainable Management Promotion Organization), and “revia,” a material created from traditionally hard-to-recycle waste plastics and waste wood.

PremiAL R100, made from 100% recycled aluminum, reduces CO2 emissions by approximately 80% during the manufacturing process compared to products made solely from virgin ingots, thus significantly reducing embodied carbon in buildings. Meanwhile, revia advances resource circulation by diverting plastic waste from incineration and landfill, leveraging LIXIL's technology and a localized recycling ecosystem built together with municipalities.

"We are incredibly honored to receive this recognition from Reuters," said Satoshi Yoshida, Executive Officer of LIXIL Housing Technology (LHT). "This achievement reflects our commitment to making circular materials the standard for the industry. To accelerate the broader international expansion of our housing technology business, we have established LHT Global as a dedicated overarching organization. Central to this global growth is our focus on driving innovation for impact—scaling recycled materials, such as PremiAL and revia, beyond Japan into Asia and other regions worldwide, driving innovation for a circular society by reducing our dependency on virgin resources."
