    Tokyo – LIXIL Corporation (“LIXIL”, TSE Code: 5938), maker of pioneering water and housing products, today announced senior leadership appointments,effective April 1, 2025. Additionally, LIXIL has announced its slate of proposed candidates for election to the Board of Directors at the Annual General Shareholders meeting (AGM), which is scheduled to be held in June 2025.

    Director Candidates & Executive Officers

    Today, LIXIL’s Nomination Committee has announced its slate of proposed candidates for election to the Board of Directors at the AGM. The company plans to re-elect nine of the current ten Directors and will propose Mr. Hiroshi Ishino as a new candidate for the Board.

    Mr. Ishino brings a wealth of international experience from his roles at Mitsubishi Corporation and his tenure as President of Kansai Paint Co., Ltd., where he gained deep knowledge in all aspects of business operations, from manufacturing to sales and marketing. His strategic leadership and expertise in managing global manufacturing operations will provide invaluable insights for enhancing management oversight at LIXIL. Additionally, Mr. Ishino serves as an Outside Director at Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd.

    Outside Director Daisuke Hamaguchi is set to retire from his role. Since joining the company as an Outside Director in 2019, Hamaguchi has played a key role in enhancing the effectiveness of the Board over six years, serving as chairman of the Compensation Committee and Audit Committee, as well as a member of the Governance Committee.

    LIXIL's Board of Directors also resolved to retain seven out of the current eight Executive Officers, aside from Shoko Kimijima, who will step down. CEO Kinya Seto and Chief People Officer Jin Montesano will continue to serve as Representative Executive Officers from April 1. Furthermore, Executive Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer Hanseul Kim  was appointed Executive Officer in charge of Corporate Transformation and M&A effective April 1.

    Over the past decade, Kim has successfully led a number of cross-functional projects and has been pivotal in optimizing our international businesses and enhancing operational efficiency. Since 2024, Kim has expanded his remit to oversee M&A, focusing on enhancing corporate value in line with the LIXIL Playbook.

    Corporate Officers

    LIXIL's management team is structured under the President, comprising two tiers: Executive Vice Presidents (EVPs) and Senior Vice Presidents (SVPs). Effective April 1, seven EVPs and seventeen SVPs have been reappointed. Additionally, Hirofumi Koizumi, Aya Kawai, John Short, Yasushi Asano, Hidekazu Sato, Takeshi Onuma, Yusuke Ueda and Thomas Schachner have been newly appointed as SVPs.
